To accomplish this objective, employees take ownership of and responsibility for their own safety and the safety of coworkers. We proceed from the premise that all accidents are preventable, and the key to the success of our safety program is based on constant attention to potentially unsafe conditions.
There is no job that is so important or urgent that we cannot take the time to ask questions and understand how to approach the project safely. Embracing this principle ensures we are able to perform our work safely. Every NORESCO employee has a part in this endeavor. Whether working in an office or at one of our company's many field sites, efforts to keep safe contribute to the world-class standard to which we aspire.
While no accident is acceptable, NORESCO's safety record is notable among companies that perform similar work. We have had no OSHA violations on a NORESCO managed construction project in the past three years, and have had only two OSHA recordable incidents in the last two years. NEES Energy is formed by New England Electric System to service the emerging demand side management services market.1989
Northeast Energy Services, Inc. is incorporated and merged with NEES Energy to form one of the first energy services companies in the nation. Soon thereafter the company begins using the NORESCO trade name.1996
NORESCO is a firmly established energy savings performance contracting leader and becomes one of the original firms earning National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO) accreditation.1997
Pittsburgh-based Equitable Resources (NYSE:EQT), a diversified natural gas production and distribution company, purchases NORESCO to bolster its deregulated energy services business.2000
Equitable consolidates its energy services business under the NORESCO brand. The company includes key members of other pioneering energy services firms purchased by Equitable, such as Conogen, Scallop Thermal, Pequod and IEC. NORESCO employs more than 320 of the top energy service professionals in the industry and has more than $100 million in revenue.2001
The company officially changes its name to NORESCO.2003
The National Association of Energy Services Companies (NAESCO) recognizes NORESCO as an accredited Energy Service Provider ("ESP"). This prestigious new distinction recognizes NORESCO for its technical and managerial competence to provide a full range of demand and supply side solutions, including cogeneration.2005
NORESCO is purchased by a fund owned and co-managed by GFI Energy Ventures, LLC.2008
Carrier Corporation, a unit of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX), purchases NORESCO to expand its energy and sustainability services business. The company exceeds $200 million in revenue.2010
NORESCO assumes operation of Carrier's sustainability services companies and broadens its service offerings with world-class LEED consulting, Retrocommissioning and other sustainability consulting capabilities. Its project portfolio now includes more LEED certified projects than any other company in the U.S.2011
