University of Massachusetts Medical Center UMass Medical Center had energy infrastructure challenges and needed to upgrade its 25-year old cogeneration plant to improve reliability. By repowering the energy plant and improving building/system efficiencies, UMass will save nearly $36 million over the next 10 years.
