With high humidity and a warm climate year round, the 2,000+ buildings face a unique energy and environmental challenge. The annual energy expenditure for the base exceeds $7 million.

Solution: MCBH selected NORESCO to provide a comprehensive energy management program. Under NORESCO's third Task Order, we will provide a new source of air conditioning and domestic hot water for more than 40 buildings.

NORESCO's solution goes beyond energy efficiency. It includes the environmental cleanup of a 420,000 gallon oil storage tank and distribution system, as well as the decommissioning of two central heating plants used for domestic hot water.

The new design provides for environmentally friendly cooling and the recovery of wasted energy to heat water. This $3.4 million project will be paid for from a combination of capital-approved environmental funds and guaranteed energy and operational savings.
