Heinz Hall's mechanical equipment was at the end of its useful life. Planners needed a solution for major mechanical system renovations and to save energy - all to be completed without interrupting any performances
Solution: An ESPC including state-of-the-art technology to keep mechanical equipment unobtrusive but highly efficient and economical, with the side benefit of improving sound quality. Some improvements included conversion of a sump into a vessel for well water, conversion of a remote sump to sumps in each of three cooling towers, two new 300-ton centrifugal chillers, a building automation system, piping and cooling tower modifications, and extensive lighting upgrades.
